Potenza Microneedling is a great treatment for women over 40!

As many of you know, I am really passionate about all things beauty and especially about sharing products and treatments that can help midlife women like me look and feel their best.

Well, I am super excited to share my latest RAVE, an innovative transformative professional skincare treatment that can take years off your face and make you look younger and fresher than you have in years!

Benefits of Microneedling

Microneedling is a common beauty treatment where small needles cause micro-wounds on the skin which stimulates healing and the growth of collagen and elastin. It’s a great procedure to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also help to improve the look of acne scars and overall skin texture.

There are a few different types of microneedling which include those done at a med spa on a more surface level, with a nurse for deeper penetration and more pronounced results as well as some home microneedling tools.

The type you choose depends on the overall needs of your skin and the outcome you desire.

Why Potenza Microneedling

Allow me to introduce you to Potenza by Cynosure Lasers, the first FDA-cleared four-mode radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment that uses ultra-fine needles and radiofrequency energy to penetrate the top layer of your skin and trigger your body’s natural healing process to help regenerate new collagen and elastin.

By combining radiofrequency technology with microneedling, Potenza helps your skin heal much faster than if you had microneedling alone (which means minimal downtime!) and it also gives you beautiful, youthful revitalized skin.

Potenza can be customized to treat a wide variety of skin concerns on your face and body. Whether you want to tighten and firm your skin (through soft tissue coagulation), minimize the common signs of aging or reduce blemishes, Potenza can tap into your skin’s youthful potential after only a few treatments.

And unlike other skin revitalization treatments, Potenza can be performed on all skin types, anywhere on the body and anytime of the year.

Doesn’t this treatment sound amazing?!! Well, the beauty junkie in me could not wait to try Potenza because as I have gotten older, gravity has taken its toll on my face and neck.

For these reasons, I have been on the hunt for a non-invasive treatment that would be able to refresh my skin and Potenza was exactly what I was looking for!

Getting the Treatment

I had my first Potenza treatment in early December at Profiles Beverly Hills (love the personable, talented, top-notch docs at this practice!) and I was pleasantly surprised by how seamless and minimally painful it was.

Does Microneedling Hurt

To make the treatment more comfortable, they numb you 30 minutes prior to your treatment so that the whole experience is relatively comfortable. Honestly, I felt a little bit of zapping and zinging during the procedure but it was totally tolerable.

After Microneedling

Post-treatment, I had minimal redness and swelling. I was absolutely fine by the next day. In my opinion, one of the perks of Potenza is that there is no downtime!

How Long Before Results

About a month or so after treatment, the skin revitalization magic starts to happen! This is the sweet spot where elastin and collagen start rebuilding and you begin to see a noticeable difference in your skin. However, it typically takes about 12 weeks after your last treatment to see optimal results.

How Many Treatments Do You Need

After each Potenza treatment, I began to notice cumulative and encouraging results. After three treatments, my skin looked younger, brighter and more refreshed and I was really beginning to like what I saw in the mirror.

However, the doctor thought that I could benefit from one additional Potenza treatment (and I agreed!), especially in my jowl and neck area, so we decided to do a fourth treatment as the icing on cake.

After having four Cynosure Potenza RF Microneedling treatments, I am absolutely THRILLED with my final results! Check out my incredible before and after pictures and see for yourself.

When I look at this side-by-side comparison of how my face and skin looked 6 months ago versus now, I can see a HUGE difference! In my opinion, my skin looks fresher, younger, brighter, tighter*.

In my before picture, I really notice how both age and gravity have taken their toll on my skin. But now it looks revitalized, radiant, and smoother! I feel like my face looks like someone turned back the hands of time and I look years younger!

I love that these results are subtle yet significant at the same time; it’s the kind of treatment where someone thinks that you look really good (and NOT fake or DONE) but they can’t quite put their finger on what is different!

I loved the results of my microneedling treatments.

If you are looking for effective but subtle ways to tighten* your skin and make it look younger, and you like what you see as much as I do, then I highly recommend getting a series of Potenza treatments to transform your skin.

I also wanted to mention that Cynosure also has a wonderful portfolio of other amazing state-of-the-art skin revitalization treatments and if Potenza isn’t right for you, I bet they have another treatment that might be a fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Potenza microneedling last?

After the initial treatments, the results can last for up to 5 years. Many doctors recommend scheduling additional treatments, over time, to maintain the best results.

Is Potenza Microneedling Painful?

Everyone has a different pain tolerance. For me, the pain was not awful. While I wouldn’t want to have it done without the numbing cream, it was tolerable and over pretty quickly since the whole process takes under an hour.

What is Potenza used for?

I used Potenza to revitalize my skin on my neck and face. But one of the great things about this device is that you can do this procedure on just about any area of the body. Some people use it to treat stretch marks and other uneven skin found elsewhere on the body.

How many RF Microneedling treatments do I need?

While it is usually suggested that each patient do 3-4 treatments, it’s best to have a consultation to discuss your dream results and get a plan created just for you.
